PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel device that prevents incorrect input, while sufficiently using an area of a touch panel where images are displayed and processing to be executed is received.SOLUTION: A touch panel device includes a plurality of detection parts detecting contact on a frame part surrounding a touch panel. The detection parts are arranged on respective sides of the frame part, and the touch panel device determines whether or not the detection parts on two or more sides detect contact. When the touch panel device determines that the detection parts on two or more sides detect contact, it sets on the touch panel an ineffective area making reception performed ineffective. When the touch panel device does not determine the detection parts on two or more sides detect contact, it does not set the ineffective area on the touch panel. |
