This shaped steel wire has a chemical composition including, in terms of mass%, 0.30-1.10% C, 0.10-1.50% Si and 0.20-1.50% Mn, with the remainder being iron and unavoidable impurities, and has a ferrite-pearlite structure or a pearlite structure. The degree of uniformity with which the <110> planes are oriented in the lengthwise direction in the center part and in the surface parts is 2.0-4.0, the absolute value of the difference in the degree of uniformity between the surface part on the inner surface side and that on the outer surface side is 0.3 or less, the degree of uniformity with which the <100> planes are oriented in the thickness direction in the center part is 1.2-3.8, and the dimensional accuracy index is 0.5-2.0.
