The piezoelectric element (1) has a stack of multiple piezoelectric ceramic layer elements (3) and several internal electrode layers (7) arranged between two adjacent piezoelectric ceramic layer elements. The stack of internal electrode layers is comprised with thin internal electrode layers (7b) whose layer thickness is smaller than the thick internal electrode layers (7a). The internal electrode layers contain the noble metal and are manufactured by screen printing technology.
