PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of shooting high quality video with reduced effects of shaking by setting an appropriate reference line for rolling shutter distortion correction.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises: an image pickup unit 123 having different timing for each line, with which electric charges are stored after photodetecting a subject image formed by an image pickup optical system; a storage unit 125 for storing a captured image; a shaking detection unit 102 for detecting shaking; an image deflection correction unit 122 for optically correcting image deflection caused by shaking; a distortion correction amount calculation unit 203 for calculating, on the basis of output of the shaking detection unit, a distortion correction amount necessary to correct intra-image distortion generated by shaking of the image pickup unit while electric charges are stored; and a correction unit 141 for correcting the image stored in the storage unit on the basis of the distortion correction amount. In the distortion correction amount calculation unit, the distortion correction amount is calculated with respect to a position set on the basis of the position of optical correction means set on the basis of the position of an optical correction unit at a time approximately in the middle between the time the image pickup unit starts storing electric charges and the time when it finishes storing electric charges. |
