摘要 <p>Trough system with a reservoir of water for plants comprising a trough container to take water and earth in two superposed compartments: the lower compartment to take water, and the upper compartment to take soil for growing, these compartments being separated by a horizontal partition and the system further comprising at least one capillary porous element (7) dipping into the reservoir of water via its lower part and passing through the horizontal partition so that at its upper part it has a surface (5) for contact with the soil, characterized in that the porous capillary element is made up of at least one solid block of capillary material such that: - it has a width and a length in a horizontal plane that are equal to one another, and at least equal to substantially twice the height of the block, - the material from which this element is made has a spread of internal pore diameters which is distributed over a wide range extending from the hundred micron scale to a few tenths of a µm, and a tortuosity which slows the flow of fluids, - this element is able to retain a volume of water at least equal to one sixtieth of the volume of soil in the upper compartment.</p>
