The invention relates to the field of engineering in terms of methods of increasing by arc surfacing durability and performance of parts and tools made of high-carbon steels (mill rolls, hot cutting knives, straightening rollers, etc.). A method of arc welding by two electrodes consists in that surfacing is performed by two electrodes, which have separate power supplies, with formation of a magnetic field in an arcing area, wherein DC voltage is applied to the first electrode, and to the second electrode an alternating current of rectangular form is applied, followed by changing the frequency of polarity switching and current pulse length of the second electrode. The method allows the intensive degassing of CO and COfrom metal weld, and, consequently, to obtain a significant improvement of quality of deposited layers. Test results showed that at polarity switching frequency of the second electrode current in the range of (0.2-1) F– natural vibration frequencies of the weld pool and when the pulse length of this current, whose polarity does not coincide with the polarity of the current of the first electrode within the range (0.1-0.4) of the length of current polarity switching period of the 2nd electrode, no pores and undercuts are formed in the deposited weld. |
