摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to adjust luminance in a wider range, in the configuration in which a light source is periodically turned on and turned off and the luminance of the light source is adjusted by varying the ratio of a light-on period and a light-off period.SOLUTION: A projector 1 comprises: a light modulation device 22; a plurality of laser light sources 42 and 43; a light source driving part 50 configured to output pulse signals S5 and S6; and a light emission control part 18 configured to adjust the luminance of at least one of the laser light sources 42 and 43 by setting at least the periods of the pulse signals S5 and S6, on-period, or pulse off-period. When the on-period of a pulse signal corresponding to the laser light source whose luminance is adjusted is set smaller than a lower limit, the light emission control part 18 sets the on-period of the pulse signal to the lower limit or greater, and also sets an off-period in one or more periods greater. For all the periods or each predetermined period, the light emission control part 18 synchronizes the pulse signal and a pulse signal corresponding to the other light source.
