PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device where each pixel region is divided into a transmission region and a reflection region, and where both reflection characteristics (a reflection mode) and transmission characteristics (a transmission mode) can be easily optimized while having high opening ratio.SOLUTION: In a transmission region T, a transmission electrode 13 is formed on an inter-layer insulating film 11 and in a reflection region R, a reflection electrode 14 is formed on the inter-layer insulating film 11. A surface of the inter-layer insulating film 11 is partially removed in the transmission region T, thereby, a step is formed between the transmission region T and the reflection region R. The step of the inter-layer insulating film 11 is formed by exposing/developing a photosensitive insulating film such as a photosensitive acrylic resin film while making an exposure quantity different by location. |
