<p>The invention relates to a method for operating a valve (12) of a product-carrying process system, wherein the valve has a first closing element (24) and a second closing element (30), wherein a leakage space (38) is provided between the first closing element (24) and the second closing element (30), and wherein the valve (12) has at least three connections (16, 18, 42). In a first operating mode, the first closing element (24) and the second closing element (30) are closed in order to block off a first connection (16) of the valve (12) from a second connection (18) and from the leakage space (38). In a second operating mode, the first closing element (24) and the second closing element (30) are open in order to connect the first connection (16) to the second connection (18) along a first product path (50) such as to allow product to be conducted and in order to block off the first connection from the leakage space (38). In a third operating mode, the first closing element (24) or the second closing element (30) is open while the second closing element (30) or the first closing element (24), respectively, remains closed, such that the first connection (16) or the second connection (18) is connected to a third connection (42; 60, 62) into which the leakage space (38) opens and is blocked off from the second connection (18) or the first connection (16), respectively. According to the invention, in the third operating mode the first connection (16) or the second connection (18) is connected to the third connection (42; 60, 62) by means of the leakage space (38) as a second product path (52; 52', 52") in order to conduct product through the leakage space (38).</p> |
