A fishing rod comprises a handle with a light source for emitting light from the butt end of the handle. Preferably the light source is located in a plug 12 used to seal off the end of the hollow handle 10. The light source may be a chemical light, phosphorescent pellet or LED. The power consumption of the LED may be reduced by placing resistance in series with the LED or using a pulse width modulated signal. The light source enables the handle of the rod to be easily located when fishing at night. |
