A cylinder lock includes: an outer shell (101) provided with a cylindrical hollow portion therein; a rotatable plug (102) rotatably positioned in the hollow portion of the outer shell (101) and provided with a keyway (121) along a rotational axis of the rotatable plug (102) for accommodating a key (200); a rotation arresting member (106) which arrests rotation of the rotatable plug (102) by projecting out from the rotatable plug (102) into a pathway (106) provided in the outer shell (101); a biasing member (104) which biases the rotation arresting member (106) in a projecting direction thereof from the rotatable plug (102); and a beveled edge (105) provided at an end of the rotation arresting member (106) and having a beveled surface (151) intersecting a rotational direction of the rotatable plug (102). Insertion of the key (200) into the keyway (121) causes the beveled edge (105) to move from the outer shell (101) toward the rotatable plug (102) to a position intersecting an inner circumference of the outer shell (101).
