<p>A cold storage system includes an enclosed structure having an opening sealed by a door. A mechanical refrigeration unit maintains an interior of the enclosed structure within a selected temperature range. The cold storage system may further include within the enclosed structure a rack system having one or more shelves for supporting refrigerated goods. The rack system additionally support endothermic phase change material (PCM) providing a capacitive cooling effect within the enclosed structure. In at least some embodiments, the PCM is contained in a plurality of overhead PCM containers supported by one or more support members of the rack system.</p> |
