PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal gasification system which can be safely operated by safely starting or stopping a carbon monoxide conversion device installed in the coal gasification system. SOLUTION: The coal gasification system is so constituted that a combustion device 1000 consuming oxygen contained in a nitrogen gas produced by an oxygen producing device 100 is provided and the nitrogen gas from the combustion device is supplied to a system in which a refined gas 6 is supplied to the carbon monoxide conversion device 400 from a gas refining facility.
