Method for stripping the insulation from a cable

The method involves cutting a conductor (2) extending in a longitudinal direction of a cable (3) into an insulation (5) encompassing the conductor of the cable with stripping blades (4,4'). The cut insulation is removed by sliding the stripping blade in the longitudinal direction. A longitudinal position of the stripping blade is identified during the cut insulation removal in response to determining that the stripping blade comes into contact with the conductor by a detection device (6). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a computer program product for stripping electrical cable; and (2) a device for stripping electrical cable.
