A neutralizing RNA aptamer against PDGFR beta and the use thereof in the therapy and diagnosis of hyperproliferative diseases

The present invention provides a nuclease-resistant RNA aptamer which is capable of neutralizing PDGFR² and is therefore useful in the diagnosis and/or therapy of PDGFRß associated hyperproliferative associated diseases, such as cancer and primary tumour metastasis. The RNA aptamer of the invention is preferably a modified synthetic RNA sequence wherein at least one pyrimidine residue, preferably all of the pyrimidine residue, are modified to 2'-fluoropyrimidine. A pharmaceutical composition and a diagnostic kit comprising the RNA aptamer of the invention are also provided.
