PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device capable of adjusting a position of a head rest in an appropriate state in a manual seat. SOLUTION: When it is detected by a brake pedal pressing detection means 105 that a brake pedal 104 is pressed, a CPU calculates a movement amount of the head rest based on a reclining angle at that time, and based on the calculated movement amount and a predetermined head rest movement amount, a movement amount of the head rest is obtained. A driving force of a motor 12 is applied to a drive mechanism of a head rest body and the head rest body is moved in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle only by the obtained movement amount.
