[Class 44] In grips of the type comprising a bracket 1 adapted to be secured to a fixture and a weighted cam lever 2 pivoted to said bracket and so arranged that the rope is gripped automatically when it tends to pay out, the cam lever includes a pivotal boss 9, a cam-portion 12 extending therefrom and merging into a weighted operating handle 13, and a middle web 14 rigidly uniting the boss, cam-portion and handle.
