System for guiding the manual insertion of a needle (1) into the body (2) of a patient during a percutaneous surgical procedure, having a guiding device (5), which has a display (6) and markers (7a-7d) able to reflect the infrared radiation and can be mounted on the needle (1) with the markers (7a-7d) arranged according to a geometrical pattern, infrared video cameras (9) for acquiring images of the guiding device (5) during the surgical procedure, and a computer (10), which has a memory (11) for storing the positions of an entry point (PE) and a target point (PT) of the needle (1) in the body (2); said system is interfaced with the video cameras (9) and the display (6) and is configured to determine, in real time, the position of the markers (7a-7d) on the basis of the images acquired and the current position of the needle(1) as a function of the positions of the markers (7a-7d) and the geometrical pattern, and to control the display (6) to show graphical navigation information which is a function of the position of the needle (1) and of the entry and target points (PE, PT). |
