Liquid biodegradable detergent compositions comprise mixtures containing in amounts of not less than 38% by weight, at least one alkaline soap of fatty acids selected from unsaturated fatty acids containing 14 to 22 carbon atoms and mixtures of unsaturated fatty acids with saturated fatty acids having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms and resinic acids, a solvent solution for the said alkaline soap in amounts less than 60% by weight selected from water and at least one lower aliphatic alcohol having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, 0.5 to 1% by weight of an anti-foam substance soluble in the said solution and of alkaline silicone type (defined), 1 to 25% by weight of an organic compound or compounds soluble in said solution and of dispersent and/or sequestrant action with regard to alkaline earth soaps. Advantageously, the composition also contains 1-15% by weight of an organic compound of fluidizing and soaking action, 1 to 10% by weight of an emulsifier and 0.01 to 0.1% by weight of an optical bleach, and perfume. The compound of dispersent and/or sequestrant action with regard to alkaline earth soaps is preferably an organic compound of general formula R(CH2OCH2)x, where x is at least 6 and R is a radical additionable with ethylene oxide. Compounds having dispersent and sequestrant action with regard to alkaline earth soaps mentioned include hydroxylated fatty esters, oxyethylenated phenolic esters, polyoxyethylenated and/or sulphonated higher fatty alcohols, alkylsulphonates, alkyl-aryl sulphonates, polyaminocarboxylates and compounds of polyethylene glycols with fatty acids and their mixtures. Soaking and fluidizing agents mentioned include glycerin, ethylene glycols and polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of 200 to 600. Ethanolamines are mentioned as emulsifying agents. The compositions may also contain 1 to 30% by weight of organic surfactants, and 0.2 to 5% by weight of at least one chemical bleach selected from hypochlorites with inorganic or organic bases, or organic chlorinating agents of the chloramide type.
|
