Disclosed is a motorized wheelchair including a body having a seating part on which a user sits, a driving unit provided below the seating part and rotating wheels according to driving of a drive motor, and an operating unit controlling the driving unit; a raised spot overcoming module provided below the body to move up and down a raised spot; sensing units provided at both front and rear sides of the body to detect the raised spot and notify the user of the raised spot; and a control unit controlling the raised spot overcoming module using the information obtained by the sensing unit.
