The present invention relates to an apparatus for mounting a steering gear nut when the steering gear nut (hereinafter referred to as "nut") is coupled to a redder stock serving as a rudder of a ship. In more detail, the apparatus for mounting the nut of the present invention comprises: a piston provided in a cylinder and having a piston rod provided therein; a cylinder body having an input orifice hole provided at one upper side surface of the cylinder to receive external air and an output orifice hole provided at one lower side surface of the cylinder to output internal air in the cylinder; an input relief valve mounted in the input orifice hole of the cylinder body to adjust an amount of air input into the input orifice hole; an output relief valve mounted in the output orifice hole of the cylinder body to adjust an amount of air output to the output orifice hole; and a swivel joint coupled to a lower end of the piston rod of the cylinder body. Therefore, the tensile force between the mounting apparatus and the nut is constantly maintained so that the nut is moved down by the pitch of a thread to prevent a heavy nut having the weight of 500 kg or more from being fixed to a bolt part of the redder stock. Further, the nut can be easily coupled to the bolt part of the redder stock, and the work fatigue of a worker can be reduced. |
