PURPOSE: A lane maintenance and control system applying a variable determination criterion is provided to operate in a lane maintenance and control mode even in a curve section by variably setting the determination criterion for determining the lane maintenance control mode and an override mode. CONSTITUTION: A lane maintenance and control system applying a variable determination criterion comprises a steering torque sensor(20), a mode determining part(21) and a control torque controlling part(22). The steering torque sensor measures the steering torque in driving. The mode determining part selects one of an override mode or a lane maintenance and control mode. The mode determining part compares the measured steering torque with either a first determination torque which is an override mode start criterion or a second determination torque which is an override mode end criterion. The control torque controlling part controls the control torque intensity according to the determined mode. The second determination torque is determined by applying the variable determination torque variable according to the lane curvature and the vehicle speed to the first determination torque. |
