The present invention relates to a method to control a backhoe loader. As to the method of controlling the backhoe loader having backhoe and loader devices, the invention comprises a step of: (1) comprising a pump; (2) judging whether or not the backhoe device is in operation; (3) setting the capacity of the pump as a first capacity when the backhoe device is in operation; (4) judging whether or not the loader device is in operation; and (5) setting the capacity of the pump as a second capacity when the loader device is in operation. The first capacity is different from the second capacity. According to the method to control the backhoe loader, the capacity of the pump is set as the first capacity when the backhoe device is in operation, and the capacity of the pump is set as the second capacity when the loader device is in operation. The invention is capable of drastically reduce operation costs by properly adjusting the capacity of the pump according to the working devices.
