The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for generating a map using a camera of a vehicle. The map generating apparatus using the camera comprises: a view conversion unit for generating a view converted image by converting a view of a peripheral image captured by a camera equipped in a vehicle; a driving information analysis unit for analyzing driving information of the vehicle based on a sensor value acquired by sensors detecting a driving condition of the vehicle; a driving trajectory estimation unit for estimating a driving trajectory of the vehicle based on the analyzed driving information; and a map generating unit for generating a map by synthesizing the view converted image based on the estimated driving trajectory.
