The present invention relates to a method for producing a glass substrate. In a space in which a molded glass sheet is cooled, an effective and excellently controllable heat exchange can be performed on the glass sheet. Cooling speed controlling members (41a to 41f) are installed in at least some parts of a space in which a glass sheet (90) separated from a molded body (10) is cooled near a slow cooling point. The cooling speed controlling members are inserted in a rear cooling space (422) disposed at the opposite side of the glass sheet (90) so as to be installed as cooling chambers (422a to 422f) disposed along the moving direction of the glass sheet (90). The cooling chambers (422a to 422f) are cooled by coolers (51a to 51f). The cooler (51b) has a heat-insulating plate (52b) and a coolant pipe (53b). The heat-insulating plate (52b) controls the heat movement between the cooling chamber (422b) and a space adjacent to the cooling chamber (422b) along the moving direction thereof.
