The present invention relates to a method for installing a water breaker for a container ship. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rapid installation method which does not require attachment and removal processes of a lug by installing a water breaker in a stern of a container ship through convenient lifting and rapid installing, does not cause thermal deformation of a material, and does not require re-painting work. The method for installing a water breaker for a container ship comprises as follows: a step (S100) of preparing a water breaker where a lifting hole is formed; and a step (S200) of lifting the water breaker using a lifting means in order to mount the water breaker in a stern of a container ship.
