The present invention relates to a polycarbonate resin composition and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method according to the present invention provides a polycarbonate having excellent heat-resisting properties by using double metal cyanide salt catalysts with high activity and obtains high number average molecular weight and carbonate purity (carbonate linkages are more than 90%) using low energy.
