<p>An elevator system having a traveling body upon which is arranged a safety gear for braking and holding the traveling body tight on the guiderail, or on a braking rail. The safety gear is connected to a device for actuating the safety gear. The device for actuating the safety gear contains a coupler body, which can be pressed against the elevator hoistway, possibly against the guiderail or braking rail, wherein actuation of the safety gear is effected by a relative movement between the pressed-on coupler body and the safety gear. For this purpose, the coupler body can contain a curved coupler surface, which, in case of need, is brought into engagement with the elevator hoistway, or with the guiderail or braking rail.</p> |
