The present invention relates to a user authentication method comprising: a first authentication step of authenticating a user if the user sequentially selects multiple images which are set as a first password among images on a display; and a second authentication step of authenticating the user if the user sequentially inputs a predetermined text at a position which is set as a second password of each image set as the first password. The images which is set as the first password is determined by being sequentially selected during user registration, and the position which is set as the second password is determined by selecting at least one part among the given number of parts into which each image set as the first password is divided during the user registration. The user authentication method has high usability and stability.
