Disclosed is a soot preventing device for a stud welder. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the soot preventing device for a stud welder comprises: a cap holder arranged by being inserted into a stud chuck of a stud gun for a stud welder, and having an extended end in a lateral side; a fixing rod for fixing the cap holder to the stud gun by connecting a gap between the lateral side of the stud gun and the extended end of the cap holder; a cap assembled to be able to flow in the cap holder by a cap nut while being inserted into the lower part of the cap holder, and of which the leading end is in contact with the circumference of a welding part of a base material in stud welding; and a buffer member formed between the cap holder and the cap inside the cap holder to provide an elastic force for the cap with respect to the cap holder.
