The present invention relates to a gas shut-off safety device for a gas range, and, in particular, to a gas shut-off safety device for a gas range, wherein the gas shut-off safety device for a gas range has a temperature sensor, a control part, a magnetic switch, an electronic valve, a relay, a bimetal switch, and a power supply part. The temperature sensor is installed to penetrate the center of the burner head part of the gas range, and transmits the value of temperature in a cooking container after detecting the temperature while in surface contact with the bottom surface of the cooking container containing a cooked object; the control part prevents the overheating of the cooking container by controlling power voltage supplied to the magnet switch directly opening or closing the electronic valve based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor; the relay is installed between the magnetic switch and the output terminal of the control part; and the bimetal switch not in contact with the cooking container and directly connected between the contact switch of the relay and a power supply part is turned off when the overheating is within a predetermined temperature range so that power supplied to the magnet switch for controlling the electronic valve can be shut off. Therefore, safety can be secured through the prevention of a fire due to the overheating, the protection of the cooking container, and the prevention of fume generation due to the burning of the cooked object; even a weak flame is not extinguished so that the failure rate of cooking over the weak flame can be largely reduced; a loss caused by moving out a fire truck when the fire is misrecognized by smoke can be prevented beforehand; and the marketability of a product and reliability due to the prevention of the overheating can be largely improved.
