In a relay having a changeover contact 33 operating between coplanar, fixed contact members 50, 51, the members 50, 51 are punched from a single sheet of metal (Fig. 3, not shown) and are only separated after assembly on an insulating plate 41. The sheet of metal comprising contact members 50, 51 is secured to plate 41 by tabs 52 and then separated by cutting off the corner along line 71. The contact structure so formed is mounted on a channel-shaped extension 36, 37, 38 of a frame by rivets which engage in a slot 40 formed in the channel. A frictional spacing member 44 interposed between the ends of the rivets and the base of the channel retains the contact structure in its adjusted position. The contact 33 is a bifurcated wire and co-operates with the surfaces 60, 61 of the contact members 50, 51.-These surfaces may be silvered. |
