The present invention relates to a composition comprising a chromen-4-one derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient for stimulating bone-forming, preventing or treating osteoporosis or fracture. According to the present invention, the composition containing chromen-4-one derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient inhibits activities of recombinant sclerostin, human sclerostin, and human DKK-1 and has an outstanding effect of stimulating bone forming in the parietal region with less cell toxicity. Thus, the composition can be usefully applied to prevention and treatment of osteoporosis such as osteoporosis caused by female hormone deficiency, osteoporosis caused by male hormone deficiency, senile osteoporosis, osteoporosis caused by movement disorders, osteoporosis caused by overdose of steroids, osteoporosis induced by chronic inflammation, and osteoporosis caused by type I or type II diabetes, fracture, osteodystrophy, multiple myeloma, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative arthritis, diabetic nephropathy, and so forth.
