The method involves connecting a resistor (5) in series with a set of diodes (2) such as LED, where value of resistor is selected according to the type of diodes of the set of diodes. A terminal voltage of the set of diodes is controlled if a supply voltage exceeds a threshold. The terminal voltage is controlled by controlling an electrode of a transistor that is ready to dissipate electric power if the supply voltage exceeds the threshold. A current circulating towards the set of diodes is measured. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
