An error detection method for a position sensor in a smart booster system according to the present invention detects the position of a rotor using three hall sensors which output signals by reating with the permanent magnet of the rotor and an encoder which outputs pulse signals when the rotor rotates one time. The method may include a step (S110) of determining six states using three hall sensors, a step (S120) of determining the errors of the encoder by determining encoder values from the six states, a step (S130) of resetting the encoder, and a step (S140) of determining the errors of the hall sensor by determining the output of the hall sensors. |
