The present invention relates to a pedestrian crossing safety apparatus including: a traffic light indicating a traffic signal to vehicles on the road; a traffic signal controller for controlling the traffic light; a control signal detection unit of the traffic light for detecting a control signal of the traffic light which is input from the traffic signal controller to the traffic light; and a safety device controller of a pedestrian crossing connected to the control signal detection unit thereof and synchronized with the control signal of the traffic light input from the traffic signal controller to control the pedestrian crossing safety apparatus. Thus the present invention has an advantage to prevent false detection of the control signal of the traffic light to assist safe pedestrian crossing and to ease installation and maintenance.
