Each permanent magnet (100) has a magnet body (101) that is formed so as to cross the radial direction of a rotor core (110) and a pair of magnet end sections (102) that bend toward the outer circumferential surface side of the magnet body (101) and extend toward the outer edge of the rotor core (110) from both circumferential direction ends of the magnet body (101). Magnetization directions (D2) of the magnet end sections (102) intersect with a magnetic pole centerline (PC) at the outer circumference side of the magnet body (101). The inclination angle (&thetas;2) of the magnetization direction (D2) of the magnet end section (102) with respect to the magnetic pole centerline (PC) is set larger than the inclination angle (&thetas;1) of the magnetization direction (D1) of the magnet body (101) with respect to the magnetic pole centerline (PC).
