PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a lubricant supply device which can be conveniently applied to the lubricant supply device with a lubricant supply pump having simple structure, and by which the occurrence of shortage of lubricant can be eliminated, and furthermore use of waste lubricant can be suppressed.SOLUTION: There is provided the method for controlling the lubricant supply device which includes: a lubricant supply pump 64; a pump housing 66 which houses lubricant; a lubricant feeding flow passage 80 which extends from the lubricant supply pump 64 to a lubricated portion of a device body; and a controller for controlling the lubricant supply pump 64. The lubricant supply pump 64 includes: a cylinder 68; a piston 70 mounted so as to be freely movable between a suction position and a discharge position; and a movement mechanism 92 for moving the piston 70. The controller feeds the lubricant to the lubricated portion by causing the movement mechanism 92 to reciprocate the piston 70 at least once between the suction position and the discharge position after the device body reaches a state of operation preparation. |
