PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving coding efficiency when a boundary of motion having arbitrary directivity exists.SOLUTION: An image compression algorithm usually indicates visual information by combining motion data with texture data. The motion data describes temporal relationships between a content of a frame and a content of a previous frame. Especially, the present invention relates to the method and the apparatus for coding the motion data efficiently when a boundary of a motion exists in the horizontal and/or vertical direction(s). |
