PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal flowmeter capable of acquiring flow rate values with little measurement error even when installed at a section where there is no sufficiently long straight pipe and a flow field inside a pipe is not stable.SOLUTION: One heat generator/sensor unit M0 is located at the center of an inner periphery of a sensor unit. Heat generator/sensor units M51-55 of five first elements are equiangularly located between the center of a conduit 13 of the sensor unit and a wall surface of the conduit 13 at an angle interval of &thetas;. Measurement values with little error is obtained by making a negative error of a value measured by the heat generator/sensor unit M0 located in the center of the conduit 13 and a positive error of a sum of values measured by the heat generator/sensor units M51-55 located along a circle having a radius of 0.7R from the center of the conduit 13 cancel out.
