PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically specify or assist a specification of a parallel computation graph.SOLUTION: A technique for automatically specifying or assisting a specification of a parallel computation graph comprises determination of data processing characteristics of linking elements that couple data processing elements of the graph. The characteristics of the linking elements are determined according to characteristics of upstream and/or downstream data processing elements associated with the linking elements. Thereby, for example, computation by the parallel computation graph that is equivalent to computation of an associated serial graph can be performed. |
