PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet type image forming device configured to obtain detection sensitivity in a desired toner amount region, while preventing the amount of received light from being reduced due to Rayleigh scattering in pigment or excessive absorption.SOLUTION: A wet type image forming device includes an image carrier, a toner developer layer formed of toner and carrier liquid and carried by the image carrier, and a toner amount detection part which detects the amount of toner in the toner developer layer carried by the image carrier. The toner amount detection part includes a light-emitting part which emits light to the toner developer layer carried by the image carrier, and a light-receiving part which receives reflected light when the light-emitting part emits light toward the toner developer layer carried by the image carrier. In a wavelength region where a characteristic value based on a product of transmittance of the toner developer layer, which is a basis for a light-emitting wavelength, and reflectance of the image carrier is included in a predetermined range, light emission intensity of the light-emitting part of the toner amount detection part and wavelength characteristics of light-receiving sensitivity are set so that intensity of detection sensitivity of the toner amount detection part, which conforms to the product of the light emission intensity of the light-emitting part and the light-receiving sensitivity of the light-receiving part, is larger than those of other wavelength regions. |
