PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base oil for a lubrication oil, capable of achieving all of viscosity-temperature properties, low temperature viscosity properties and low volatility in high levels even when its viscosity is made low, a method for producing the same, and a lubrication oil composition containing the base oil for the lubrication oil.SOLUTION: This base oil for the lubrication oil has a urea adduct value of 4 mass% or less, a viscosity index of 130 or more, a NOACK evaporation amount of 15 mass% or less, and a content of a saturated portion based on the total amount of the base oil for the lubrication oil of 90 mass% or more. The method for producing the base oil for the lubrication oil includes a step of performing hydrogenolysis/hydrogenating isomerization of a raw material oil containing a normal paraffin so that the obtained treated material has a urea adduct value of 4 mass% or less, a viscosity index of 130 or more, a NOACK evaporation amount of 15 mass% or less, and a content of a saturated portion based on the total amount of the base oil for the lubrication oil of 90 mass% or more. |
