PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peptide chemistry and medicinal drugs, more particularly a novel gastric inhibitory polypeptide ("GIP") analogue and GIP-containing hybrid polypeptide with selectable properties.SOLUTION: There are provided novel GIP analogue and GIP hybrid polypeptide having selectable properties which are useful as an agent for treating and preventing metabolic disease and pathosis in general which can be lightened by controlling of blood plasma glucose level, insulin level, and/or insulin secretion, positive inotropic effect, reduction of dissimilation effect, and slowing of gastric emptying. Such pathosis and diseases include, but not limited to, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, eating disorder, critical care, insulin resistance, obesity, and arbitrary type of diabetes mellitus including type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. |
