587,598. Drawers. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., MOIR, J., LESLIE, J. A., and LONG. A. H. Nov. 1, 1944, No. 21368. [Class 52 (i)] [Also in Group XL] A chassis or drawer mounting means such as for electrical equipment comprises a slidable carrier which is withdrawable from a rack, and a chassis pivotally and slidably mounted on the carrier. After withdrawal of the carrier the chassis may be slid and then rotated, relatively to the carrier to enable the underside of the chassis to be readily accessible. In Fig. 1 the chassis 6 is pivoted at 10 on carrier rails 5 slidable over rack 2 on rollers 7, 8. A hinged catch 11 prevents rotation of the chassis 6 whilst the carrier is being withdrawn. In order that chassis 6 may have substantially the depth of the rack 2 it has grooves 14 and 13, Fig. 2, which allows it to be slid relative to the carrier before rotation about pivots 10 which co-operate with the circular holes of grooves 14. The pivots 10 are of arcuate shape to prevent them entering the grooves 14 when the chassis is in the vertical position, and pegs 15 running in grooves 13 keep the chassis in a horizontal position whilst it is moved relative to the carrier. Further catches may be provided to prevent the carrier from being moved beyond a safe distance with respect to the rack and by operation of these catches the carrier may be completely removed from the rack. |
