<p>[Problem] To provide an engine starter that eliminates unnecessary kick operations and is capable of reliably and efficiently starting an engine. [Solution] An engine starter comprising a crank shaft (11) constituting an engine, a generator (2) that rotates in synchronization with the rotation of the crank shaft, an ignition coil (5) for supplying high voltage to a spark plug (12), a cranking means for rotating the crank shaft (11) in order to start the engine, a switching means (transistor (63)) for turning voltage applied to the spark plug (12) on or off, and a CPU (64) for controlling the switching means, wherein the engine starter is provided with an accumulating capacitor (62) connected in parallel with the generator (2) with respect to the ignition coil (5), and the CPU (64) detects the monitor voltage between the accumulating capacitor (62) and the ignition coil (5) and puts the switching means in a conducting state only when the monitor voltage is equal to or greater than a prescribed voltage.</p> |
