<p>In the present invention, during ultrasonic diagnosis, the transmission by a transducer of an ultrasonic beam in a manner so as to form a predetermined transmission focal point is performed a plurality of times; the analog reception signal output from the transducer is subjected to A/D conversion to result in first element data; using a plurality of the first element data, second element data corresponding to one unit of the first element data is generated; and the sonic velocity is determined using the first element data in the vicinity of the transmission focal point, and using the second element data in the other regions. As a result, the sonic velocity of the ultrasonic wave within an inspection subject is determined at a high precision without a decrease in frame rate.</p> |
