The present invention causes the paragraph region of a text to be continuous for reading. The positions of paragraph regions (F1 to F10) are extracted from a document image (21) obtained by imaging a document. The reading sequence of the paragraph regions (F1 to F10) is provisionally determined. The attributes of the paragraph regions (F1 to F10) are detected, and the sequence for the paragraph regions of the text in which the text is written is determined. The character images containing in the plurality of text paragraph regions are merely scrolled in the vertical direction in the sequence thus determined and are thereby displayed in sequence on the display screen of a mobile phone.
