PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of detecting movement of a holder to a home position.SOLUTION: An optical pickup device includes: an optical component which guides a laser beam emitted by a laser diode to a signal recording surface of an optical disk; a holder for holding the optical component; a support member which movably supports the holder; a stopper which is put into contact with the holder to stop movement of the holder; a lead screw which is rotated by a drive motor; a wire member which is fixed to the holder and has a pressure-contact piece which is pressed against a first thread groove of the lead screw to move the holder using rotational force of the lead screw; and a limiting member which is provided on a side of the pressure-contact piece opposite the lead screw side to limit movement of the pressure-contact piece away from the lead screw in a direction that crosses the lead screw such that the pressure-contact piece does not jump from the first thread groove to a second thread groove located next to the first thread groove. |
