PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical connector enabling highly precise PC connection at low cost, and an optical connector manufactured by the method.SOLUTION: A dopant is added to a quarts fiber core to enlarge the refractive index of the core and lower the melting point, and the refractive index difference of the core to a clad is set to 1 to 3%. Only the core is made to project from an apical surface of the optical fiber in a sphere form with arc discharge, and the optical fiber processed with the arc discharge is mounted in a ferrule. |
